Oxford IT Innovation Challenge shortlist

One of 15 shortlisted proposals out of 47 total from across the University of Oxford for an open source annotation app, Marginalia, making use of the W3C Open Annotation Data Model. Developed with team of five fellow students.

CopyrightX

CopyrightX is a twelve-week course taught by Harvard Law Professor William W. Fisher and administered by teaching assistants from the law school. The course is taught alongside the law school’s residential course and has been offered annually since 2013 by Harvard Law School, the HarvardX distance-learning initiative, and the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society. Of the 4,000 applicants, roughly 5% were both selected to participate in and successfully completed the course.

DCU Innovation Contest Semi-Finalist

Lead a student team in developing a proposal for the Digital Federal Credit Union to implement a form of two factor authentication using a time-based one-time password (TOTP) authentication system that relies on open standards (RFC 6238) supported by Google Authenticator and similar mobile apps. Presented proposal to DCU CEO James F. Regen.

Evelyn Olschewski Scholarship for Commitment to Social Justice

This scholarship is given annually to an Acton student who has displayed a significant commitment to the community and the cause of social justice. The individual shall have demonstrated qualities of compassion, integrity, leadership and service through activities helping to improve the conditions of those in need and protecting the rights of the marginalized in our society.

Human Rights Leadership Award

Awarded for my two years of work on human rights issues while president of my high school’s chapter of Amnesty International. Activities included raising funds for Amnesty International through organizing events like ‘Jamnesty’ concerts, an annual trip to New York City to advocate for human rights with Get on the Bus for Human Rights, and letter writing campaigns to free prisoners of conscience.
